英语需要要用 both parents 吗？

说 all parents 就不符合习惯吗？

这不可以以偏概全，要分状况来看。

▲若是指某人的爸爸妈妈，即仅指两个人，那不可以用 all parents，而要用 both parents。如：

He lost both parents when he was a child. 他小时候，爸爸妈妈就都过世了。

I understand from him that you have lost both parents. 我从他那儿获悉你已没了爸爸妈妈。

▲假如不是指某人的爸爸妈妈（即不是指两个人），而是泛指所有些爸爸妈妈，那不可以用 both parents，而要用 all parents。如：

All parents should have their children immunized. 所有爸爸妈妈都应给孩子打疫苗。

All parents want the best for their children. 所有爸爸妈妈都想把最好的给我们的子女。
